Young Chef of the Year: The Winner
The Young Chef of the Year 2010 is Zara Jackson of The Burnt Gate in Anslow. Zara triumphed in the cook-off final which took place at Burton College’s Mulberry Restaurant on Monday 1st February. Her dish, steamed ballotine of salmon served on a bed of creamed leeks with glazed carrots and Anna potatoes, won the judges over to secure her the title.
The Young Chef of the Year is a special award dedicated to recognising the best up and coming young chef in the Burton upon Trent area. All competitors are aged between 16 and 21.
